Job Description: Great opportunity for either a Certified Diabetes Educator or Registered Dietician (scheduled to take CDE exam). My client is one of the most progressive companies in the Diabetes market place and has won numerous awards on their design of their Exclusive Medical Device used in the treatment of patients that have Diabetes.

The Clinical Specialist–Diabetes will work with the local Sales Representative by providing clinical education and product support directly to the end-user. This will encompass initial patient training, follow-up, support, troubleshooting, customer service and education for my client’s primary Diabetes Products. The goal of this role is maintain the highest quality of care for patients, increasing referrals and sustaining patients on their product.

Job Summary And Scope

The Clinical Dietitian provides overall nutrition care to patients. The Coordinator ensures the nutritional needs of the individual patients are being met and that all documentation as it relates to the patients nutritional status is complete and accurate. Also plans and administers activities related to patient nutrition care, complying with the standards established by regulatory agencies and the Hospitals. Scope of practice may include both in-patient (hospitalized) and out-patient (community/clinic-based).

Essential Functions

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs

• PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services meetings and workshops. 

• Adhere to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations.

• Maintain the privacy, safety, and dignity of each patient by observing client patient confidentiality and by strictly adhering to HIPAA laws.

• Maintain clinical productivity standards and accurate record keeping of daily clinical activities, including information for scheduling and billing.

• Monitor adherence to food safety standards.

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, clients and co-workers to ensure patient satisfaction by addressing customer concerns and needs.

• Maintain dietetic registration, state-required credentials and/or licensure and continuing education requirements.

• Conduct patient nutrition assessment on a population of lower acuity patients.

• Manage the development and implementation plan for nutrition intervention in accordance with the Nutrition Care Process.

• Provide appropriate and timely documentation that summarizes the nutrition care plan in a patient’s medical record, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, plan, implementation, and progress towards goals.

• Conduct rounding to drive patient satisfaction.

• Assess educational needs and the presence of barriers to learning. Provide nutrition counseling for individuals and groups, taking into consideration any adaptations to teaching methods necessary to meet patient learning needs.

• Utilize assessment and evaluation techniques that consider the varied needs of age-specific populations as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.

• Evaluate achievement of learning objectives by the patient and/or family. Provide appropriate follow-ups in accordance with the patient’s treatment goals, referring patients for outpatient counseling, community, or home health services as appropriate.

• Deliver strong operational performance by executing regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal nutrition care and meal service to patients.

• Work cooperatively with medical staff as well as food & nutrition services staff to ensure conformance to prescribed nutrition care orders.

• Provide education that ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.

• Provide appropriate and timely documentation that summarizes the nutrition care plan in a patient’s medical record, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, plan, implementation, and progress towards goals.

• Maintain clinical productivity standards and accurate record keeping of daily clinical activities, including information for scheduling and billing.

• Demonstrate accountability for the proper use of patients protected health information.

• Exhibit professional behavior at all times in all areas of the workplace by reporting to work neatly groomed.

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Clinical Dietitian - Acoma-Ca├▒oncito-Laguna Indian Health Service


Position is located at the Acoma-Cañoncito-Laguna Service Unit, Clinical Services Division in Acomita, New Mexico (1 hr commute from ABQ). The incumbent manages the clinical dietetics program for ambulatory and inpatient care and serves as the subject matter expert on medical nutrition and community based food and nutrition resources and reports directly to the Clinical Director.



  • Monitor clinical dietetic programs to ensure conformance to nutritional and quality standards.
  • Plan and conduct dietetic or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease.
  • Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients.
  • Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
  • Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
  • Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
  • Plan and conduct training in dietetics, and nutrition for medical students, health-care personnel, and the general public.


Applicants must meet one of the following requirements for all grade levels:
  • Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. For dietitian positions, the curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) in effect at the time of graduation. OR
  • Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) for dietitians or nutritionists. OR
  • Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). OR
  • Current employee assigned to a position in this occupational series as of September 2017.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below:


Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Evaluating, managing and providing a comprehensive clinical nutrition and dietetics program including infection control, safety and sanitation, providing nutritional management of a variety of chronic medical problems, ambulatory care and community nutrition programs.

Job Description: This home-based position, in the greater New Mexico area. is responsible for coordination and implementation of our Health & Wellness (H&W) platform, that involves ability to develop and maintain relationships with reputational thought leaders to demonstrate dairy’s essential role in a healthy lifestyle and sustainable food system. The Program Coordinator must be able to leverage science-based evidence to drive overall results.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate complex events, such as farm tours and culinary events, to drive results including overall logistics and on-site execution.

Make data-driven decisions to drive greatest opportunity for growth. Support the leadership of the School Marketing team in the planning and development of strategies and programs.

  • Collaborate with other Dairy MAX program areas (Industry Image & Relations Team, Business Development, and Communications Team) to integrate H&W and School Marketing initiatives and goals.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition or related field, registered dietitian nutritionist preferred but not required, and 5+ years of experience in health professional field.
